The part remained elusive, and repair people told her there were no after-market parts — Honda-branded or not — to replace the specific one that was needed. She would have to wait. Supply chain issues, which cropped up for many industries during the COVID pandemic, have been improving, but they’re still a problem, said David Straughan of Automoblog, who once covered manufacturing and supply companies in China before coming back to the United States.
