Anthony Ralston is determined to keep his eye on the ball - and isn't even paying attention to their rivals' perceived struggles
Anthony Ralston is ready for anything the new season can throw at him after riding the Euro rollercoaster, writes Michael Gannon in America.
“It won’t be the last time there are hard moments in my career, because that is the nature of football, but it’s about reacting as best as you can. I really appreciated that support and I could feel that at the time. It helped me going into the last game. It’s about mentally learning from it. Obviously you don’t want it to happen but I’ve got the experience to deal with it now.”
“In time we can look back individually and be proud to be part of it. You grow up as a kid dreaming of things like playing at the Euros. I’m sure looking back one day it’s something that I will take a lot of pride in. You look at the calibre of players you are up against, and the way they are structured and play, it’s tough, but it definitely can improve you as a player.”
Celtic look slick and there are still new signings to come in. There have been some grumbles from fans about the lack of new outfield recruits so far, but it’s a far cry to some of the discontent across the city, with rivals Rangers stumbling through pre-season and set to be away from Hampden for the foreseeable.
