Maybe Israel should have let the West Bank go back to Jordan, as it let the Sinai Peninsula go back to Egypt.
But would that have stopped terrorist attacks, such as the kidnapping and murder of the Israeli athletes during the Munich Olympic Games by the Palestinian Liberation Organization?
Israel is making it difficult to gain sympathy with its crack downs on Palestinians, and now its own people, as well. But maybe if the surrounding Muslim nations didn’t keep starting - and losing - wars to destroy Israel completely, Israel might not have become so big and powerful to shove its weight around. And the world might have welcomed an independent state of Palestine, right next to the independent state of Israel, with the free and open Holy City of Jerusalem between them.
