May God watch over all Christians in Gaza—and all Israelis and Palestinians who are suffering, whatever their religion or creed.” Church officials and eyewitnesses said a Thursday blast on the St. Porphyrius Greek Orthodox Church campus killed at least 17 people when a building on the church’s grounds collapsed. The Israeli military admitted responsibility for damage, and said it was targeting a nearby Hamas command center. The damage was collateral and unintended, it said.
