It is the first time in this war that medical workers of the International Committee of the Red Cross have entered the besieged Gaza Strip.
In the three weeks since Hamas launched an unprecedented cross-border attack on Israel, intense Israeli airstrikes have caused devastation inside the tiny and densely populated territory of the Gaza Strip.
According to Gaza’s Health Ministry, over 7,000 people have been killed, while almost half of the enclave’s more than 2 million residents have been displaced. Satellite images shared Saturday by Maxar Technologies of before and after the latest war show the extent of the destruction in two neighborhoods in northern Gaza, with many buildings reduced to rubble.
