Hamas has said its militants are 'completely ready' to confront Israeli soldiers after the IDF announced it would expand ground operations in Gaza. Clashes have broken out in in two towns near the border, Hamas said, and Israel has intensified its airstrikes.
Israel is still only carrying out 'limited moves' rather than a large ground manoeuvre into Gaza, said a former Israel Defence Forces head of Palestinian affairs.They are still preparing the ground and studying Hamas's response to clashes in north and central Gaza, said Dr Michael Milshtein.He predicted Israel would be focused on releasing as many hostages as possible in the coming days before the 'broader move'.
