The lives of President Raisi and foreign minister Amirabdollahian are at risk following the crash, an Iranian official told Reuters. 'Some of the president's companions on this helicopter were able to communicate with Central Headquarters, raising hopes that the incident could have ended without casualties,' Iranian news agency Tasnim reported.
He added: 'The region is a bit and it's difficult to make contact. We are waiting for rescue teams to reach the landing site and give us more information.'
