After a long absence, it’s now been confirmed Invincible season 2 will release in 2023!
Invincible season 2 is confirmed to premiere in 2023. Debuting on Prime Video in March 2021, and based on the superhero comic book character created by Robert Kirkman and artist Cory Walker, the adult animated series centers on the 17-year-old Mark Grayson. Although he comes across like a normal teenager, Mark has to balance his own superpowers with the fact that his father – Omni-Man – might just be the most unstoppable being on the planet.
SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY That face-off premiered all the way back in April of last year, which was the last time a new installment of Invincible dropped. But now, after the tease of news on Invincible season 2 in January, the animated hit has been confirmed to debut in 2023. During an interview with Collider, Vernon Sanders – the Head of Television at Amazon Studios – said that Invincible will return with new episodes in the coming year. An exact premiere date was not given.
In terms of what else can be expected from Invincible season 2, Kirkman has talked about the arrival of Angstrom Levy. In the comics, Levy is a man with the ability to travel to alternate realities. Although little is known about when and how he gains these powers, he blames Mark for the fact that he's disfigured and becomes a significant recurring threat to the character.
By all accounts, there is plenty to look forward to whenever Invincible kicks off its long-awaited return. The show has been a notable success for Prime Video, as evidenced by its quick renewal for both season 2 and season 3. Despite the extended break between episodes, at least viewers will have some assurance that the story won't end abruptly. And, as the new year progresses, more details will be revealed about the story and what's next for the characters.
