Investigation launched into death of tragic Leeds tot who fell out of seventh floor window as inquest opens
An investigation into the “state of a window” has been launched following the death of a toddler who plunged from the seventh floor of a tower block in Leeds.
Little Exodus climbed on furniture and fell 60ft from the window of the flat in Burmantofts, on July 2. He was rushed to Leeds General Infirmary but was pronounced dead at around 2.05pm that day.His heartbroken mother, Birikti Berihew, had the 'difficult duty' of identifying him in hospital, the court heard.
Neighbours in the block of flats previously told how she had complained to the Leeds City Council twice about a faulty window in the flat. The court was told an investigation was underway as to whether the window was “open to such an extent that a baby could fall through it.”
