You will probably have heard the phrase ‘Instagram vs reality’. Well this couldn’t have been more true to describe my weekend pumpkin picking… with a toddler.
The sun was shining and the setting was gorgeous. Acres of fields, covered in all sizes, shapes and colours of pumpkins as far as the eye could see. The acres of fields I mentioned earlier became a little less appealing, when carrying a 2+ stone child around them. A solution would of course have been to put him in the wheelbarrow, which you get on your way in to trundle your selected pumpkins along. But that would have been too easy. Forgetting his mud phobia instantly my toddler now wanted to push said wheelbarrow around the uneven fields - thus creating our second breakdown of our joyous family day out.
