The Gym Group's expansion across the region continues
A low-cost fitness chain has opened a new gym on the outskirts of Manchester city centre. The Gym Group today opened the doors to the branch just off Oxford Road. It is on Hathersage Road, next to Manchester Royal Infirmary, in the heart of the city's student district.
The Gym Group - which describes itself as 'the pioneer of the low-cost gym model' - has 236 branches across the country and already has centres on Portland Street in the heart of the city centre, alongside branches in Old Trafford, Openshaw, Whitefield, Fallowfield, Altrincham, Oldham and StockportEarlier this year the company, which specialises in offering low-cost memberships, said it would be accelerating the opening of gyms amid a jump in membership numbers.
The new Manchester contains a a wide range of free weights, including dumbbells up to 50kg, a functional training area, and cardio machines. The say they will also offer a 'busy timetable' of classes, including HYROX training. New members receive 24/7 access and unlimited classes for £14.99 for the first six months. The gym's General Manager Thomas Southern said: "Our new gym in Manchester not only offers a brilliant training space with high-spec kit to work out, but also an inclusive and welcoming community.
