for further proof—but still, the magic of Paris Fashion Week can enchant even the most jaded among us. Getty was tired upon arrival in Paris as she had just been to Switzerland to ski and New York for a pit-stop before the shows but nonetheless, she careened from the airport to Balmain’s ateliers to be fitted for the label’s fall 2022 show. From then on, it was a pretty much non-stop slew of shows, appointments, parties, and delicious meals.
At her first appointment, she settled on a fitted, semi-sheer off-the-shoulder black dress to wear to the Balmain show, paired with a dramatic chunky choker. Her week started with a bang when she realized she was seated next to Jean Paul Gaultier at the show. “I don’t know who was in charge of seating, but they really blessed me with that,” she says. “I didn’t want to stare at who was next to me, but I heard someone come up and say, ‘I’m such a fan.’ I turned my face a little and then I saw.
Rounding out her week was a fitting with Giambattista Valli before the fall 2022 show on Monday. She chose a white dress with a full skirt and a delicately ruffled neckline. On her dream shopping list after the shows? Puffer jackets from Rick Owens, the final three looks from Balmain , and Giambattista’s high-neck minidresses.
Of course, no trip to Paris would be complete without food and drink. Newly vegetarian, Getty “cheated” by eating some fish, notably at Caviar Kaspia. “Very pricey, but very yummy,” she says. Another key part of her diet was crêpes, which she had delivered to her hotel throughout the week. “It’s a whatever-time-of-the-day ritual,” she says. “This morning I woke up and needed two crêpes. I always get one savory, one sweet.
