Indonesia is experiencing its biggest student demonstrations in decades, over a new law that critics say undermines the fight against corruption, alongside controversial plans to revise the criminal code and several other issues.
Parliament agreed on Sept. 30 to delay to its next session a vote on the criminal code, which bans sex outside marriage and penalises insulting the president’s honour. President Joko Widodo will be sworn in for his second term in office on Oct. 20.
