Exclusive: Indiana Jones 5 director James Mangold recalls grilling Harrison Ford for Star Wars secrets while working on their prior movie.
As his time with the studio is potentially nearing an end, Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny director James Mangold reveals he grilled Harrison Ford for Star Wars secrets on their prior project. Before taking the reins from franchise director Steven Spielberg, Mangold and Ford previously worked together on the 2020 adaptation of The Call of the Wild, for which the Logan director was a producer.
SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY SCROLL TO CONTINUE WITH CONTENT Ahead of the movie's theatrical release, Screen Rant spoke exclusively with Mangold for Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny. When asked about their prior time working together on The Call of the Wild, the director confirmed he and Ford discussed a variety of things on that set, including the future of the Indiana Jones franchise, and grilled the Han Solo actor for Star Wars insight.
Obviously, you can't be doing all night shoots in the middle of the Santa Clarita Valley, waiting for lighting setups to be completed and not start interviewing Harrison Ford with crazy Star Wars questions and Indy questions. Somewhere around 2 a.m. he'd start telling stories about what they were thinking of next and what they're working on. Little did I know it would end up being me.
Dial of Destiny Marks The Start Of A New Lucasfilm Era After over 40 years of appearances on screen, Ford has confirmed that Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny will be the end of his time as the eponymous adventurer.
With one franchise now coming to a close, and another forging a new future, Lucasfilm looks to be entering a new era following Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny.
