AI is so good at drawing pictures and driving cars, why not let it govern a country?
India's prime minister, Narendra Modi, used AI to help develop the nation's 25-year development roadmap, according to comments made during a live-streamed interview with news agency ANI on Monday."I made it subject-wise with the help of AI," stated Modi, according to a machine translation from Hindi to English.
"This is our blueprint for 25 years, which is my own vision now," declared the incumbent seeking re-election. While he didn't disclose the specifics of the roadmap, Modi did explain that the plans will be implemented following India’s election, which kicks off this week. Modi is running for a third term and is favored to win it handily.. This package includes physical infrastructure, like a supercomputer with at least 10,000 GPUs, as well as initiatives towards building indigenous large multimodal models .
The BJP manifesto also includes tech-related policies – including strengthening India's digital sovereignty, improving cyber security, and creation of a"National Quantum Mission." The party has also promised to"deepen our component ecosystem and take semiconductor design and manufacturing to a new level to become one of the global majors in chip manufacturing" – but without a timeframe for achieving that status. ®AI could crash democracy and cause wars, warns Japan's NTTTurns out AI chatbots are way more persuasive than humans
