The family have been locked in a legal battle as a High Court judge recently ruled further treatment for their daughter was 'futile'
The parents of Indi Gregory have shared an update on the appeals process surrounding their legal battle to keep their daughter alive - and shared pictures of the family together during their anxious wait for answers. A High Court judge recently ruled that critically-ill Indi's treatment was "futile" and granted permission for doctors to withdraw care.
He shared pictures of the family in hospital as they await the news, sharing 'cuddles' with their daughter by her bedside. Announcing their decision to appeal in a statement earlier this month, he said: "The doctors painted a terribly bleak and negative picture of Indi's condition during court proceedings.
"During her short life Indi has proved everybody wrong and deserves more time and care from the NHS rather than seeking to end her life as soon as possible. "In my judgment, having weighed up all the competing considerations, her best interests are served by permitting the trust to withdraw invasive treatment in accordance with the care plan presented." The ruling means that Indi will be taken off life support within a week, with a bag mask then being provided for up to a week afterwards.
