Indi is currently being treated for a range of conditions at Queen's Medical Centre
A Nottingham dad whose seven-month-old daughter has been unable to leave hospital since birth has shared an update on her health. Dean Gregory, 37, says Indi has recently been weened off two blood pressure medications, neo adrenaline and phenylephrine.
He also explained that for days Indi's ventilator has been on the lowest pressure support setting and she is now in "a better position." in Nottingham, with the primary illness being a rare mitochondrial disease. Mr Gregory stated in an update: "The ventilator has been on the lowest pressure support settings for days. She is in a better position now than she was when she was positive for E. coli and on IV antibiotics, which they have all stopped now since last Tuesday." Mr Gregory believes this is a sign it wasn't her metabolic condition that caused the deterioration at the end of August. He added: "There are talks that the doctors want to wean the ketamine down and extubate very soon.
The legal dispute between Indi's parents and Nottingham University Hospitals Trust began on September 15, and it is expected that later this week a final judgment will be made on the application to withdraw critical care. Indi has a hole in her heart, and has had three cardiac arrests and seizures, sometimes lasting more than two hours, since her birth on February 24 earlier this year.
Her parents, who are from Ilkeston, argue many of their daughter's major episodes are due to infections acquired in hospital rather than her conditions. Dean also states that his daughter has had CPR three times but has not been resuscitated nine times.

Interpreting large-scale medical datasets: Generative model enables multi-scale representations of cells and samplesThe increasing amount of data recorded in medical research can only lead to scientific breakthroughs and essential therapies for patients if interpreted and analyzed correctly. Computer scientists at Helmholtz Munich developed a generative model named scPoli (single-cell population level integration), that performs data integration of high-quality large-scale datasets of single cells to create valuable single-cell reference maps of the human body, so-called single-cell atlases, for medical resea
