Rally by friends of Ukraine in Belfast city centre to mark one year since the Russian invasion
Organised by the 'Ukrainians in Northern Ireland' community group, the demonstration was held to thank the people of Northern Ireland for the support they have given both to people in Ukraine and those who have sought refuge here.It began at the Botanic Gardens before participants marched to Belfast City Hall.
The figures were released by Stormont's Executive Office on the first anniversary of the Russian invasion and also show that over £1m has been paid out in ‘thank you’ payments to hosts who have generously offered accommodation to those forced to flee from the conflict over the last 12 months.
