IFD washed and packed fire fighting equipment to send to Ukraine to keep first responders safe.
The department packed up donated turnout gear and EMS supplies to send to the war-torn country. The equipment was sent to Chicago in partnership with Ukrainian Society of Indianapolis co-founder Svitlana Ramer.
"The need for firefighters supplies is so great there, because of constant shelling, constant explosions and missile strikes," Ramer said. The organization worked with IFD to identify decommissioned gear that could be washed and packed up to send to Ukraine.conference where we heard heart wrenching stories about their daily plight.
