It was then put up for sale earlier this year, with pub bosses saying at the time they had been "inundated with locals looking to take over the reins and excited to get the venue back up and running as soon as possible".Thankfully it now looks like Glasgow won't have to wait too long for one of the city's best loved eating and drinking institutions to make its long-awaited return.
Taking to the pub's Instagram page last night, bosses teased the reopening, of the pub posting: "Watch this space" along with the hashtag '#TheGriffinIsBack'. The news will no doubt be welcomed by Glaswegians and visitors to the city alike, especially theatregoers, with the pub being a firm favourite for those heading to a show at the King's.
