George is sticking around for another year Coronation Street legend Tony Maudsley, better known to viewers as George Shuttleworth, has signed on the dotted line for another year of drama. George had been spoken about long before his arrival into the ITV soap, as his dad Archie was the resident undertaker in Weatherfield for years. Following his death, George stepped into his top hat and transferred the family business to Victoria Street, first appearing in 2020.
