Exclusive interview with Robbie Fowler, who has announced a new partnership with Alder Hey to help create careers in the NHS for local students
Robbie Fowler says he is delighted to announce his award-winning academy has agreed a groundbreaking new education partnership with Alder Hey Children's Hospital.
"We want to be the best we can be every day. If that means we are one of the best education facilities in the city and UK, that's great. It is down to the staff and the culture they create; bringing out the best in young people," Fowler tells the ECHO. "We have one of the most famous children's hospitals in the world on our doorstep here in Alder Hey with fantastic people, so we have a quite unique area around health and education," says FEFA principal, Brian McGorry. "There is a lot of deprivation in the surrounding area and young people who need to be given a chance to improve their career chances.
After vacating Melwood in 2021 to move to their £50m AXA Training Centre in Kirkby, Liverpool took control of the iconic base once more earlier this year after repurchasing the land. "Yes, you're working hard on contracts and everything you need to do to get it all over the line but I've got to say Liverpool FC as a club have been fantastic with us in terms of getting everything done in the timeframe we needed to have everything done for.
