Airport lounges are the ultimate way to kickstart your holiday
Whether you're flying at 7am or 7pm the accepted social rule around when to have your first alcoholic drink are thrown out of the window when it comes to going on holiday. The bars are packed with holiday-makers keen to get their first pint down them in order to kickstart their vacation.
The lounge has floor-to-ceiling windows to allow passengers to watch take-offs and landings and there is an overwhelming sense of calm and relaxation. It was somewhat tricky to find a free table, and as there were only two of us we were told to sit at one of the small tables, but we managed to find one before eyeing up what was on offer.
Abigail quickly developed an obsession with the chicken drumsticks. Although kids can't get their money's worth from the bar she definitely did so in biting her way through at least 10 drumsticks. The only available seats were these rather bizarre single armchairs which reminded me of those massagers you come across in motorway service stations. It felt like we were sat on a park bench.
