Maybelline Lash Sensational Sky High Mascara is a best seller, but OK!'s beauty editor Laura Mulley think she's found one that gives a similar effect for half the price
I've written many times about how I think Maybelline Lash Sensational Sky High is one of the best mascaras on the high street; it lifts and lengthens lashes, and then locks them in place all day long. With an RRP of £11.99, it's at the lower end of the price range of mascaras – but I think I've found one that's even cheaper and gives a similar result.
What I like about is that the brush it great for pressing right into the base of the lashes without it smudging everywhere, and the formula gives a really decent amount of length and definition, especially after two coats, and without any clumps. It also lasts remarkably well all day with no smudging or flaking . It removes easily with an eye make-up remover or balm cleanser at the end of the day.
Comparing it to my favourite Maybelline Sky High, I'd say that it doesn't quite have the same lifting and separating effect, nor does it 'lock' lashes in place to keep them up – when wearing Sky High, my lashes do not budge. The bristles on the Maybelline brush are also slightly longer, meaning the comb through the hairs more effectively.
