All people seem to do in the video is tip double cream into a tub and then shake for about ten minutes and there you have it, butter forms. To me, that seemed a little too simple.
After doing a little bit of research, I found that you need double cream that has no added ingredients, therefore, Elmlea double cream wouldn't work as that has added buttermilk and oil. So, Co-op being the closest place to me to buy some double cream, off I went. I was also the idiot that volunteered to try this live on Facebook for the whole world to see - that was a mistake when I was about five minutes in sweating like I'd run a marathon and grunting so much because it was hard.
Low and behold, after a little less than 13 minutes I'd actually made butter. I had to take back what I said about it not working - the proof was right in front of me! It was lovely, almost like a whipped butter consistency. I can only really liken it to something you get at a fancy restaurant when the butter is creamy, whipped and so light - I'd definitely give it a 10/10.
