Chairman Bill Kenwright struck up a special friendship with Everton fan Pearl Kelly from Orrell Park
Evertonian Pearl Kelly has revealed the kind-hearted gestures chairman Bill Kenwright made throughout her ongoing medical procedures and the VIP treatment he provided her with both at Goodison Park and beyond.
“Pretty much since then he’d been doing all kinds for me. I’d sit in the directors’ box with him and go for refreshments in the boardroom while he also invited me to go and see his shows at the Empire and in the west end. “A few days later I got a message from Everton to say that the end of season awards night was coming up at St George’s Hall and Bill couldn’t go so he gave me two tickets and my fella and I went. We were sat on the chairman’s table with Tom Evans, little Alfie Evans’ dad.
“I remember Bradley Lowery’s mum describing him as ‘Uncle Bill’ and he’d refer to himself like that, saying stuff like: ‘Uncle Bill will look after you’, and he’d help me to walk up the stairs.”
