Now, Fathom Events has announced The Hunger Games will be returning to select theaters in anticipation of The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes. Theaters across the US will be playing the original film on Sunday, October 15 and Wednesday, October 18 at 7:00 p.m. in local time zones. Tickets can be purchased at Fathom Events to relive the original movie on the big screen.
Everything We Know About The Ballad Of Songbirds & Snakes The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes sees Coriolanus , nicknamed "Coryo" at this stage of his life, acting as a mentor for the 10th Hunger Games. He mentors District 12's Lucy Gray Baird , hoping to win the game despite the odds not always being in their favor. Because it's a prequel, watching all four of The Hunger Games films will be vital to understanding the new movie.
However, while the story will have strong foundations in the original series, the movie's prequel status means it has a vastly different cast. In addition to Blyth and Zegler, the cast of The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes includes Peter Dinklage , Josh Andrés Rivera , Jason Schwartzman , and Viola Davis among others. The new cast and time period will give Panem a very different feel from Katniss' movies, establishing what the nation was like before her time.
With Fathom Events offering a chance to see The Hunger Games again in theaters a month ahead of the prequel, it's unclear if other films in the franchise will get the same treatment.
