It was part of a national day of action
Protesters descended on Nottingham's train station on Saturday, November 4, as part of a demonstration calling for a ceasefire in Gaza. More than 750 people took part in the action as part of a UK-wide day of demonstrations over the conflict currently taking place in Israel and Gaza.
The Nottingham demonstration involved a 20-minute sit-in in the train station, replicating similar sit ins in Manchester and London. A statement by Open Nottingham said: "A demonstration of over 750 people marched in the heavy rain central Nottingham calling for #CeasefireNOW. Arriving at the Station a large group moved inside and occupied the space for around 20 minutes.
"The protest was loud, energetic and peaceful, with the police keeping their distance. Bigger than last week's march , the crowd was highly diverse with representatives from mosques and unions taking a leading role."
