Hundreds of protestors have gathered outside parliament to voice opposition to the government’s Illegal Migration Bill as it is debated in the House of Commons.

Addressing parliament last Tuesday, she said: ‘They will not stop coming here until the world knows that if you enter Britain illegally you will be detained and swiftly removed.’ The charity Refugee Action said it would ’cause misery, cost millions to the taxpayer and drive desperate people to take ever more dangerous journeys’, while the Archbishop of York described the bill as ‘cruelty without purpose’.
