The cars became stuck on fields used for parking during the fireworks display on Saturday.
Hundreds of drivers had to be rescued from a muddy car park after becoming stuck following a fireworks event.
The Leicestershire and Rutland 4x4 Response team said cars became stuck on fields used for parking during the After Dark fireworks display at Cattows Farm, near Ibstock, on Saturday. The group said it sent more than 11 vehicles to help more than 300 cars that were trapped at the site. The rescue charity said it had previously been contacted by Halloween Farm, the event organiser that used Cattows Farm as a venue.
However, the charity declined due to "previous commitments and concerns regarding traffic egress on the surrounding roads".It said the Derbyshire 4x4 Response team later agreed to provide some responders to cover, but deteriorating conditions meant they became overwhelmed, despite efforts to establish firmer roads. Both Cattows Farm and Halloween Farm have been contacted for comment.
