Eric Matthews will coach his last postseason with Atascocita baseball before moving to his new post as one of Humble's assistant athletic directors.Carlesa Dixon and Eric Matthews were named the new Humble ISD assistant athletic directors at the district’s monthly school board meeting Tuesday night.
“It’s great that we’re getting two highly successful coaches, but they’re highly driven and work really hard,” Kite said. “Both have great attention to detail. Carlesa has been everywhere for Summer Creek to help them out, and Eric has helped me since Paul left with facilities and work orders and has always been a rock in this district. He volunteers for everything. I’m lucky to have both of them working with me now.
At Atascocita, he guided the Eagles to a 5A state semifinal appearance in 2014. He’s coached seven players who have been drafted into MLB.
