After the news that he will co-star with Ryan Reynolds in Deadpool 3, Hugh Jackman shares a snap of himself training. Jackman became synonymous with the Marvel Comics character Wolverine due to his tenure as the star of the 20th Century Fox original X-Men franchise, which started in 2000. He went on to play Wolverine in nine out of eleven X-Men films, including three solo endeavors - 2009's X-Men Origins: Wolverine, 2013's The Wolverine, and 2017's Logan.
SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY The announcement that Jackman would return as Wolverine in Deadpool 3, which will also be the first R-rated MCU film, came as a shock to fans of the X-Men and the MCU, but a welcome one for many eager to see the actor reprise his role once again. Though the character of Wolverine was killed in Logan, that film is set in the future, opening up possibilities for more stories to tell before his death.
How Hugh Jackman's Wolverine Physique Changed Through X-Men Movies Jackman played the character of Wolverine for nearly two decades in the original X-Men movies, which naturally meant some adjustments to the character's physique over the years. In 2000, Wolverine appeared as a very lean and sinewy version of the character, putting on some bulk by the time 2003's X-2 rolled around.
Jackman's Instagram story may not be his confirmed training for the film, but with hardly two years before the film's release, it's likely that his training will commence soon. As audiences look forward to Jackman's return as well as Wolverine and Deadpool taking their official places in the MCU, it's possible that more fan-favorite characters from other Marvel properties outside the MCU could return.
