ABC7 Los Angeles reports the hangar is one of the largest wooden structures ever built, at 17 stories high. It's one of two air hangars built in 1942 at the former Marine Corps Air Station Tustin. The historic landmark has been featured in several shows and films, including Pearl Harbour, Star Trek and Austin Powers.

A three-alarm fire was reported around 1.00am on Tuesday morning at the Marine Corps Air Station in Tustin, California, the Orange County Fire Authority said. The former air base was built in 1942 during World War II, and was decommissioned in 1999.
Since the base’s closure, the hangars have also been used in multiple film and television productions, including JAG, The X-Files, Austin Powers, Pearl Harbor, and Star Trek, according to the city.
