Emmerdale's boss Kate Brooks has quit her role for a job at rival northern soap Coronation Street and will take over creative responsibilities for the ITV soap from April 2024
There are big changes happening in the world of soaps as an Emmerdale big name decides to join rival soap.
Kate has climbed the ranch to become head of Coronation Street as previous boss of Corrie, Iain Macleod has become Executive Producer for Continuing Drama at ITV. Speaking fondly about her co-workers, Kate continued to say: "I've absolutely loved my time on the show, and I've had the privilege of working with such a hugely talented and hard-working bunch of people, who also happen to be the loveliest, too."
“I've adored the show from across the Pennines and have consistently been in awe of the talent on display, both on and off the screen."
