The 25ft mammal was spotted on the South Queensferry coastline in Edinburgh on October 21 just after 11am by worried onlookers.
A huge whale has sadly died after getting stranded on a Scots beach despite a major rescue mission to save it.
Soon after dozens of Marine Mammal Medics in high-vis jackets were at the scene at Whitehouse Bay as well as a vet who poured water on the distressed creature and tried to help it back into the sea. There are dozens of people standing around the whale wearing high visibility jackets and using yellow buckets to throw water over the whale.
Speaking to the Daily Record David who spotted the whale said: "There are vets on the scene now, They were putting water and wet blankets on it. It looks like it's trying to edge its way back to the water and there are various vets observing."
