Dad issues plea to drivers after 'beautiful and amazing' daughter, 12, killed in crash
A dad whose daughter was killed by a speeding driver has pleaded with people to look at photographs of her and 'think twice' about their own driving.
Her life was tragically cut short in a crash on the A52 in Derbyshire in 2008 as she was being driven back to Yorkshire from Alton Towers. The crash was caused by a convoy of five speeding cars. The leading car crashed head-on into the Greenwoods VW Passat. Several young people were later given custodial sentences for their part in the crash and for telling lies about what happened.
"Most people are law-abiding, but my message is to those who take an unnecessary risk and don’t think about the consequences. The result of the speeding driver was a dead 12-year-old with a broken neck, and he also managed to kill himself and his passenger. It was all totally avoidable. "The way I get through life is doing what I do. I want to try and stop other people making stupid decisions."
