When Sillesen and her business partner, model Rose Hermansen, aren’t sitting front row and taking turns on the Wood Wood runway, the twenty-somethings can be found at their office in the Danish Museum of Art & Design sketching plans for’s new shop, say, or visiting the construction site of Simple Feast’s headquarters. Such a schedule “tones down our outfits,” says Hermansen, who prioritizes easygoing pieces that don’t skimp on style.
Below, the design duo break down Danish style—from how to layer the Copenhagen way, to the best vintage stores their city has to offer.“During the summer when we have these long light evenings, people are definitely wearing more color; you always wear your swimsuit underneath your dress and you have some jeans you can put on under that when it’s getting a bit colder,” says Hermansen.
“Growing up, we never went out to dinner much, but with all of the cafes and restaurants opening over the past few years, it’s become much more common to go out to eat. Now a lot of people will go straight from work to dinner, so they’ll pack an extra pair of shoes or a nice jacket, or just put a little lipstick on,” says Sillesen.
