In addition to stress injuries, Wembanyama could be susceptible to hamstring problems and lower-back issues due to the torque his playing style creates, DeBerardino said.In the curious case of Wembanyama, doctors don’t know what they don’t know.
Sports science has progressed light years since 2008, when Portland took Oden first overall and saw him play in 82 games for the team — total — over four seasons with the club. “We have unbelievable experience working on how to avoid stress , how to avoid them with those long feet,” Wembanyama’s agent, Bouna Ndiaye, told ESPN. “We have been working very specifically on his body to make him safer.”
