Police have blamed the “madness” of Merseyside’s criminals wielding “battlefield” weapons in the streets for the death of innocent nine-year-old Olivia Pratt-Korbel
., causing grievous bodily harm to her mother Cheryl Korbel, the attempted murder of convicted criminal Joseph Nee and possessing two firearms.

The legislation allows police to ask a court to make a confiscation order against an individual based on the amount of money they are believed to have benefited from their crimes.
