John Galliano’s seismic Maison Margiela Artisanal spring/summer 2024 show signalled a return to theatricality in fashion. Held in a dilapidated café beneath the Pont d’Alexandre III, the show transported today’s generation into Galliano’s enchanting world – a realm that devout fashion enthusiasts, myself included, had long yearned to experience beyond the confines of our Fashion TV screens.
After that I was getting attention in this space, because other than Stephen Galloway or Les Child, I was really the only one pursuing a career in movement. People didn’t really understand what it meant, which was exhausting to explain, but it also meant there was a gap to fill.
