Dominik Szoboszlai has been reflecting on Liverpool's start to the season and the start of his Reds career since joining from RB Leipzig
Dominik Szoboszlai has admitted Liverpool’s impressive start to the season has come as a surprise to Jurgen Klopp’s squad.
Yet it’s been a case of so far, so good for Liverpool. The Reds currently sit fourth in the Premier League table, with only controversial officiating away at Tottenham Hotspur last month denying them an unbeaten record, have won all three of their Europa League group games so far to have one foot in the knockout stages, and have progressed to the League Cup fourth round.
“We have to work hard,” he said. “When the players left, no-one was expecting how we started, how quickly we got to know each other and how well it goes. We are there for each other. We are a team. Szoboszlai has been playing in a deeper role than he is previously accustomed to since joining Liverpool, lining up as a number eight having previously been utilised predominantly as a number 10 or outwide. But that hasn’t stopped him making an impact in the final third, with the 23-year-old already boasting two goals to his name.
“Even if we are in front, I don’t want to concede any goals, that’s why I run. If we are behind I want to score goals, that’s why I run. It is always the reason why you have to run.
