February 18, 2023 - 22:30 GMT Matthew Moore The coronation of King Charles III will take place on 6 May and the service promises to be one of history and tradition, while also reflecting the current role of the monarchy in today's society.
A new coronation anthem will also be composed by legendary musicals composer Andrew Lloyd Webber as part of 12 music pieces that have been commissioned for the ceremony.Overall, there have been six orchestral commissioners, alongside five choral commissions and a organ commission. Speaking about his role in the ceremony, Andrew Lloyd Webber said:"I am incredibly honoured to have been asked to compose a new anthem for the coronation.
