Houston ISD on Thursday released a digital portal for the public to see how the school system is spending roughly $1.2 billion of federal COVID-19 relief funds it has received.shows where funds have been allocated and how much of that money already has been spent, with the intention of getting the public to understand where the money is going as part of an effort to be more transparent.

August Hamilton, general manager for strategy and innovation in HISD, gives a sneak peak of a new portal with Adrian Acosta, an officer in Academic Instructional Technology at HISD and Pamela Evans, Director of External Funding at HISD, in Houston on Tuesday, May 3, 2022. The portal will be available for the public to see how the district and each individual school is spending federal covid relief money.
