Louise Hunt, 34, was 32 years old when she was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes. She says: “Aide has allowed me to feel in control of how I manage my diabetes. From being able to input results of glucose tests to logging medication, I can also track symptoms – both physical and mental – which has had a positive impact on how I live my life with a health condition.”
Other conditions such as chronic pain, arthritis, migraine, inflammatory bowel disease and irritable bowel syndrome will then be added. The app will be able to help people manage a number of these conditions at the same time. Ian Wharton, chief executive of Aide Health, said: “Our goal is to give both patients and clinicians the tools and insights they need to have better conversations and make more informed treatment decisions together.”Aide has short, daily conversations with patients who have asthma or type 2 diabetes to help them manage their day-to-day health, using plain English that aims to minimise the use or jargon or complicated medical terminology.
Aide is a cloud-based, browser-based tool for the clinician which enables them to create and remotely monitor a health plan for the patient. This is paired with a native mobile app for the patient which acts as a co-pilot through their care, serving as a “24/7 companion”.
