WowWee is known for its tech toys, but a low-tech plaything could be its most innovative product yet, as it seeks to become a bigger player.
When WowWee was approached about the Pop2Play concept, Wiseman said, the company realized “this can solve so many problems we were trying to crack, the biggest one being how do you eliminate or reimagine the big, bulky, plastic playset.”
For parents, Wiseman said, being able to stash away a large toy out of sight when a child isn’t playing with it seems to be the biggest selling point, although the added sustainability is a benefit. “A traditional toddler slide takes up a big footprint,” he said. “Being able to collapse a slide and stash it under a couch, under a bed, or in a closet is fantastic.”
