A very hot day is in store for most places. Most of the area will be in the mid-to-upper 90s, but it will be slightly cooler near the coast. Another round of afternoon or early evening showers is expected, and the storms could be severe in some places.
The threat of storms is particularly high in the northern part of the forecast region, around College Station and points north.
