Harris County Precinct 4 posted the cooling centers available for those who need a break from the heat on Twitter. If experiencing heat exhaustion, it is recommended to wear loose fitting clothing, move to a cooler area, sip cool water and seek medical attention if symptoms worsen.For Saturday, Houston’s temperatures reached 98 degrees, but its peak heat index value reached 114 degrees, according to the National Weather Service.Sunday
Sunday’s temperatures are expected to reach 100 degrees with peak heat index values reaching 117 degrees.Highs will reach near 101 degrees over Juneteenth weekend and Tuesday.
