Since last year, Houston has been under Stage 1 of the city’s drought contingency plan, which calls for voluntary water conservation measures. Stage 2 – which goes into effect Sunday – will require residents to abide by outdoor watering schedules.
Residents who live in houses with even-numbered street addresses will water on Sundays and Thursdays. Those who reside at homes with odd-numbered street addresses will water on Saturdays and Wednesdays between 7 p.m. and 5 a.m.Residents are asked to check for leaks , make sure sprinkler heads are not spraying into the street or storm drain, run appliances when the load is full, and take short showers.
