HOUSTON, Texas --The city is marking the first night of the Festival of Lights, which Mayor Sylvester Turner will attend.

According to biblical text, Mattathias the Hasmonean started the revolt by refusing to worship the Greek gods.There will be food, music, and more. Tickets are $10 for adults and $8 for children.
People can also attend the free event, Chanukah in the Snow, where kids will have 10,000 pounds of snow to play in.
