The Met Office says heavy showers are expected, with a maximum temperature of 12 degrees Celsius
Heavy rain is once again expected throughout the day as a new weather warning has been issued. The Met Office has announced a new yellow weather warning for heavy rain will be in place today until 4pm.
This comes after Nottinghamshire was hit by Storm Babet over the weekend, which brought significant flooding across the county, with some of the worst-hit areas being Retford and Hucknall. Danger-to-life flood warnings were issued as water levels rose during the storm. Nottinghamshire County Council declared a major incident while about 200 properties in Retford were evacuated as the River Idle reached record levels. The warning in place today also covers cities such as Sheffield, York, Leeds, Lincoln, and Hull.It has been in place since 3am today until 4pm. Four flood warnings are currently in place for the city in locations such as the Attenborough Nature Reserve and the Park and Ride site at Queens Drive.
According to the Met Office, spray and flooding are expected and could lead to difficult driving conditions and road closures. There is a small chance that homes and businesses could be flooded, causing damage to some buildings, while some communities might become cut off by flooded roads.
